It's hard for a kid to be a kid when faced with a life threatening illness. Their days are filled with doctors, hospitals and treatments. Enter the Make a Wish Foundation. Make a Wish takes children out of the day to day of their illness by granting a wish. Some wishes are simple, like a family trip to Disney. Others are more involved like Lyla, who wante to be a Navy Seal for a day and Charlotte who wanted to meet a unicorn.
Make a Wish unites families, friends, and communities for life changing experiences. 99% of doctors say the Wish experience helped families to deal with the trauma. 87% of recipients say the wish was a turning point in their treatment.
Trini Kaopuiki Clark is the President & CEO of Make a Wish Hawaii, where thousands of wishes have been granted. She wants to share with us the story of Make a Wish and why what they do matters. Join us Thursday, December 1.
