Speaker: Jennifer Paroly,  Chief Development Officer and President, Tri-City Hospital Foundation

Jennifer shared what an honor is was to be invited to speak to such an amazing group of individuals.  She remarked on the purpose of the Rotary Club “service above self” and how much that resonated with her and her purpose.

Some of her favorite quotes are:

"The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others."
and

"Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see."
Mark Twain

Jennifer has been associated with the board for ten years and recently was asked to be the president.  She was told thath "No one cares more about the success of our community hospital than you!"

Jennifer spoke about her background in working for the Make a Wish Foundation, and what joy she received from helping others.  She fondly recalled her first wish grant with Josiah, a four year old who just wanted a coloring book.

She has been a part of the Honor Wall where organ donors are recognized.  A recent organ donation enabled five patients to live!

She is involved with the Guardian Angel Program which acknowledges gifts with pins.

Jennifer is preparing for the foundation's 39th annual Diamond Ball Fundraising Gala on November 16th.  Please try to attend.

Proceeds from the gala will benefit the TriCity Imaging Department to continue to provide lifesaving services in our local community. The new State-of-the-Art MRI Imaging will ill be the only facility in North County able to provide these services. New advanced imaging services offered will include; full cardiac, skeletal, spine, soft tissue, and cancer screening.

Jennifer asked us to keep the hospital in mind and close to our hearts.  She encouraged anyone interested in supporting the foundation to
please contact her at any time.

Thank you, Jennifer!

  • Meals Reminder:
    • We must have the head count for members, guests & Speakers by the Friday before to get to the Country Club.  We need to know if they want a hot meal or Cobb.  Please let Michelle know by the Friday before.
  • Operation Hope.  We now have a Commercial kitchen we can use in Vista to prepare meals: the First Luthern Church at 1410 Foothill Dr, Vista
    • We are scheduled for Operation Hope on 11/27, the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and on Christmas Day.  JoAnn & Renuka offered to co-host 11/27 and Michelle and Paul (w/ Ron & Linda, Marie) for 12/25.
  • Fundraising Street Fair Success!  Thank you to all who gave their time over the weekend.  We were left with four pies and three loaves of bread.  After today's meeting we had one pie which was given to Catholic Charities in Vista who so kindly loaned us the banana boxes for easy transport of the bread and pies.  Paul will have a more detailed accounting shortly.  Please contribute your $20 commitment for tickets, if you have not already done so.
  • Holiday Party: Joe has found a resource to invite active duty enlisted military families.  We have decided to continue our tradition of inviting the Camp Pendleton families & Joe will reach out to get the families.
