Chambliss Christmas Party
Posted by Rem Cooper
Fellow Rotarians,
Our annual Christmas Party is upon us! We will be hosting the Chambliss Children's Home at PinStrikes next Tuesday, December 1st, from 5:00pm to 7:30pm. Please be prepared to pay $15 at the door which will cover your bowling and dinner (pizza & soda).
I have had several members reach out to volunteer for this event. We have 28 kids coming from Chambliss this year, and we are supplying each with a $40 gift card to Walmart as well as a stocking filled with candy and other knickknacks (thanks to Donna Horn and our interact club!). We will also have an arcade gift card for each of the kids as well as a couple hours of bowling. Due to the average age of the Chambliss kids, we have opted out of the special Santa visit this year.
As of right now, I have the following Rotarians down for helping run this great event...
Donna Horn: Stocking Stuffing with the Interact Club
Roseanne Apyan: Setting up check-in tables and recruiting others to help with this.
Ken Robinson & Peggy Parker: Picking up gift cards from Walmart and coordinating with Donna to get her the cards
Brian Frye, Justin Porter, Henry Pate, Dave Elliot, Gina Crumbliss: Setting up, breaking down, pictures, and misc. opportunities, etc...
Pat Egen: other than dominating us all in bowling, Pat is trying to set us up with a more efficient, electronic manner of taking payments (we aren't sure this is going to be ready or not for the party).
I look forward to seeing you all next Tuesday at 5pm!
