" Staying Sane During the Covid-19 Pandemic" by Dr. Mary Berge

A Rotarian since 2002, Dr. Mary Berge is a frequent speaker and trainer around the Rotary world. As a practicing clinical psychologist, she has a vast knowledge of human behavior, emotions and coping; which is why we’ve asked her to speak today on the topic of Staying Sane During the Covid-19 Pandemic.
Mary is a member of the Rotary Club of Johnstown, Pennsylvania. She has served as:
- District Governor (2008-2009)
- Zone 28-29 North American Membership Project Lead
- Zone 29 Rotary Coordinator
- Training leader for incoming District Governors at the International Assembly in San Diego in 2019 and 2020
- Trainer at numerous Zone Institutes
- Recently serving as Programs Chair for the 2019 Zone 33 and 34 Leadership Summit
- Frequent speaker at President Elect Training Seminars, District Conferences, and other Rotary events
- Speaker at the 2013 Rotary International Convention in Portugal and at the Women in Rotary Conference in Romania.
- Mary has also been invited to serve as a Rotary International President’s Representative on four occasions.
For her humanitarian efforts:
- Received the YWCA’s Tribute to Women Community Service Award, Rotary’s Five Avenues of Service Award and The Rotary Foundation Citation for Meritorious Service.
- Together, she and her husband have hosted 9 Youth Exchange Students and many GSE teams.
With international service being her passion, she and her husband have participated in numerous hands-on service projects in Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic and India. Mary and her husband are members of the Paul Harris and Legacy Societies and are Major Donors to our Rotary Foundation.
