What a blast!
Our fourth year of hosting this event, and it gets better every year!
After a summer break from formal programming, Special Olympics holds a registration evening and to encourage athletes and volunteers to sign up, we organize a venue and get in the pizza and cake. Generously supported by local donors, we also have door prizes and all kinds of games and activities - way more fun than just handing in a form and making a payment!
Big thanks to Northstar Church for giving us a venue*, Panago Quesnel for a very generous discount on their most excellent pizza, and event/door prize sponsors, Snap-On Tools, Books & Company Quesnel, Granville’s Coffee, AC&D Quesnel Insurance Services Ltd., and Foundry Quesnel, along with table sponsors RBC Quesnel and Rotarians Julie Spina Royal LePage Aspire Realty, RBC Quesnel, Tim Hall, Marg & Bill Anderson, and Linda & Simon Turner.
*While Northstar Church refused to accept a rental payment, telling us their space is a community space, we weren't having any of that so put to work money generously collected by our seniors for our Seniors Trip to Barkerville and gave Northstar a cheque for $500 towards their weekly Community Meals Program.
