About PACE Universal

 

 

 

At the 2014 District 5040 Conference in Squamish, one of the speakers was Deepa Biswas Willingham. 

 

Deepa was born and raised in Kolkata (Calcutta). She saw the poverty that crippled her own community and vowed to make a change. Her promise to girls born into poverty was - and still is - realized in the Piyali Junction Learning Center, operating under the banner of PACE Universal (Promise of Assurance to Children Everywhere).

 

Members of our club returned from the conference insisting a donation be made to support this important work and later that year we did just that to sponsor 8 year old Pravati Mondal.
