The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 forced us to think about how we would continue to serve our community. Like everyone else, it was hard to focus on anything beyond what we couldn't do!

They say necessity is the mother of invention and so it proved with Halloween and the time-honoured tradition of trick-or-treating. In 2020, it was pretty much taboo; by 2021, though, people were getting creative (candy chutes became quite the thing!) and then Rotarian Bev Haluschuk suggested we set up a parade of princesses, monsters, and super heroes outside our local long-term care facility, Dunrovin Park Lodge.

And so our Halloween Parade of Costumes was born!

We didn't get many pictures of our inaugural Parade (below), but have made up for it since!
