About the Clock

 

 

 

 

In 2007, Quesnel Sunrise 2000 Rotary Club completed an ambitious and what has proven to be iconic project: the intallation of a clock on the corner of Spirit Square, at the intersection of Reid Street and St Laurent Avenue.

 

It soon became a landmark, and rightly so!

 

Operated now by the Downtown Business Association and repainted in 2019 by City of Quesnel, our club has assumed responsibility for overseeing the design, creation, and installation of  8" x 5" plaques on the base of the clock. In keeping with original project, we currently charge $1,300 per plaque, with any funds surplus to the actual cost going towards project requests that come our way, both local and international.

 

Since the plaques are permanent, and to honour the original intentions behind the clock project, we reserve the right to approve the content on a given plaque but, subject to that, plaques can be arranged by individuals, community groups, and businesses for most any reason.
