Every family deserves a place to call home after disaster.
We were first introduced to ShelterBox in 2007 by our now 60-year club member John Havens who told us how the organization responded to disasters (floods, earthquakes, cyclones) by providing immediate shelter - tent, blankets and bedding, kitchen sets, water filters and carriers, all carefully packed into a single tote, the iconic green Shelter Box.
Since being founded in 2000, ShelterBox have been there for over three million people in around 100 countries, about 300 people a day, spanning Asia, Africa, South America, Oceania, Europe, and North America.
ShelterBox believes "Shelter is the foundation for life – for survival, stability and dignity. It offers a place to feel safe, stay together, stay healthy, earn a living and help children get an education."
We agree, and that's why we continue to support their work, this past year by way of a members-only fundraiser we call Happy Bucks.
