January 12, 2017 Program - Chamber of Commerce

Keith Lambourne, Chamber President, spoke at the Club's January 12th meeting. Keith shared with members his thoughts about his term as President of the Chamber.  He highlighted the Rising Stars program for youth that brings together students and mentors from the business community.  He believes that the business members benefit from the program just as much as the students benefit from their learning. He mentioned recent accomplishments of the local Chamber stating that the Board of Directors is now more representative of the business community and that they have achieved gender equity among directors.  The local Chamber is also becoming more active with the BC Chamber and ensuring that our business community and their concerns are being well represented.  Keith, while well known on the Prince Rupert stage says the Chamber is not a one-man show.  It's success is because of its hard working directors and engaged members.
