Brianne Bartel writes of her experience:

I have attached 2 pictures, the large group shot you requested, along with a picture that I think represents some of what RYLA was about. The picture is our wall of affirmations. All weekend, this wall was a place where we would share our feelings of joy with others. At the end of our weekend, this wall was full of affirmations. Every single person there had multiple affirmations to take home with them. I keep all of mine, and when I read them I feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Because of the depth of the relationships formed at RYLA, affirmations aren't surface compliments, they really make you feel good for the true person that people see in you. For me, RYLA wasn't just a trip to Vancouver. It was an amazing weekend full of making friends that are motivated, inspiring leaders. I also learned so much about myself through workshops and group discussions. We did many team activities that increased self confidence and strengthened bonds between group members. The volunteer staff was incredible, they were selfless, supportive, and fun! RYLA is an amazing program, and I hope that I can go back as a junior leader to give back for those who took their time to be there for me. On our last day, no one wanted to go home, especially me. I love RYLA and the safe, comfortable environment that is created there.
