Caitlin Birdsall from North Coast Ecology Centre Society.  This group’s purpose is to connect residents and tourists alike with the nature in our area.
In the past they have held a Whale Festival (2018&19) and they have partnered with Triton Environmental to provide school programs.
Exciting plans:
This week they are starting a Pop-up Ecology Centre in Cow Bay.  They will be located at a portion of the Northland Cruise Terminal thanks to PRPA.  They will have many exciting experiential things like a Touch Tank, microscopes, a Humpback Whale skull.  They will provide a saltwater experience with both invertebrates and fish (DFO permit pending).  They will have trained educators and volunteers on site.

The goal of this pop-up centre is to bring nature education to the north coast and to help them understand the feasibility for a permanent centre.
