Support for Polio Plus

Past District Governor Suresh Pahwa, right, brought special recognition from Rotary International to the La Grange Rotary Club Wednesday for its participation in the drive to eliminate polio throughout the world. Rotary initiated the eradication campaign and has poured more than $1 billion into it since 1979. Today, only three nations in the world, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Nigeria, still have the wild polio virus. In the past two years, the La Grange Rotary Club raised over $11,000 for the polio effort alone. Accepting the citation is this year's club president, Chuck Mazac.
