As Rotarians, we don't serve in order to be recognized. But when we serve well, it's bound to be recognized.

At the District 5870 Conference of Rotary Clubs, held May 23-25 at Lake Conroe, a highlight was the announcement of this year's additions to the District Roll of Fame.

Among the honorees was John Wied, two-time past president of the La Grange Rotary Club.

According to the District, "The primary consideration for selection to the District 5870 Roll of Fame is the nominee’s dedication to the Object of Rotary, and his/her commitment to the ideal of Service Above Self, and the Rotary 4-Way Test."

Nominated by President Don Jones, John Wied has embodied these attributes, seen especially in his tremendous success as Membership Chair for the club in recent years.
