An innovative idea that Rotary developed some years ago, Hoopathon came to Prince George in early June. Hosted by all five Rotary clubs at the Canadian Tire Jumpstart Multi Sport Court, the event was an overwhelming success.
A fun event for the whole community to participate in, the shooting hoops in a given time to raise money for at-risk youth and families in need, ended up with overwhelming support from not only our residential community but also the business community and the University of Northern British Columbia Timberwolves hoopsters.
With Canadian Tire and Datoff Construction stepping up to the free throw line with dollars in hand, the event raised over $10,000.00 .
Of special note is the commitment by the Yellowhead Rotary sponsored College Height Interactors who were the backbone of the event, without whose help the event would not have gone as smoothly as it did.
