2015/03/07 4th Annual Emmett Hannes Memorial 5k
On Saturday, March 7th, 2015 the 4th Annual Emmett Hannes Memorial 5k was staged at the Lee County Courthouse. Over 100 runners and walkers descended on Giddings to participate in the event, even with the cold temperatures. It was very appropriate that the memorial event was held on the day before the 60th Anniversary of the Rotary Club of Giddings, as Emmett Hannes was the charter president of the club. Thank you to all of our sponsors, participants, and supporters for helping make the event a success. A special thanks to the EarlyAct/FirstKnight service club from Giddings Elementary School for coming out and supporting the runners and walkers as they made their way through the course.
