On May 30, 2014, Giddings Elementary and the Rotary Club of Giddings held a knighting ceremony as part of the EarlyAct FirstKnight citizenship program.  The program which started at the beginning of this school year focuses on teaching the virtues embodies in the knightly code of chivalry to the students for 10 minutes each school day.  During this six weeks, the students learned about the virtue of Respect.  At the knighting ceremony, twenty nine K-3 students were recognized for embodying that virtue and were awarded a champion’s medal.  The 3rd graders were knighted by Lady Hannah, one of the Knights of the Guild.  

 
 
At the last Early Act/First Knight Knighting ceremony of the year, the 2nd and 3rd Graders at Giddings Elementary School in Giddings, Texas recite the 4-Way Test.
 
Of the things we say, think and do:
First, Is it the TRUTH?
Second, Is it FAIR to all concerned?
Third, Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
Fourth, Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
