Dr. Travis Marcum of Austin Classical Guitar (ACG) will talk about ACGs Education Program. In 2017-2018, AUARC sponsored the purchase

Dr. Travis Marcum is the Director of Education for Austin Classical Guitar and PhD in Music and Human Learning. He is lead author and composer for Guitarcurriculum.com, a worldwide resource for guitar education. Dr. Marcum directs the ACG Education program, serving over 5,000 students and teachers in 70 public school classrooms in Central Texas. He directs numerous community programs across Austin including Austin Lullaby Project. He is currently developing music programming for patients at Dell Children’s Hospital and The University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School. Travis’ research focus includes: expertise and music teaching using eye-tracking methodology, music in juvenile detention, and music in healthcare settings.
