
Every July 1 a new slate of officers begins its duties among the 45,000 Rotary clubs around the world in more than 200 countries.
They chart the annual course for 1.2 million Rotarians, including here in qathet/Powell River region where the club was founded in 1955.
Mac Fraser will serve as president for the 2026-27 term, his third time heading a club. He also served as president of Cumberland’s club and the sunrise club here which unfortunately had to turn it in charter several years ago.
Working with him are directors Matt Wate, past president; Jaspreet Soor, vice-president; Sean Dees, secretary; Frieda Hamoline, treasurer; Matthew Mowbrey, membership; Mel Munroe, community service projects; Bente Hansen and Elke Sager, international; Fraser East, youth; Katya Gustafson, Rotary Foundation; Peter Harvey, public relations, Laura Sayer, fundraising and Stephen Short, sergeant-at-arms. Sara Mitchell-Banks will handle programs and speakers.
