Rotary’s 2026 Bike Safety Rodeo for kids aged four to 12 attracted a record-setting 185 youngsters! They were accompanied by parents, grandparents and siblings under sunny skies on May 31.

Many Rotarian members were on site to help with this annual free community event along with Brooks Secondary School volunteer Grace who worked the registration desk.

The goal of teaching youngsters about safety on the road, maintaining their bicycles, awarding everyone a prize and providing the opportunity to fill their bellies with a variety of different food was achieved.

Once again, the event was supported by Community First Aid, Domino’s Pizza, Royal Zayka, and Dairy Queen whose representatives gave out free food, qathet Cycling Association members who provided bicycle maintenance, the RCMP with added safety tips and introductions to the Mountie dog in their car and Canadian Tire which provided space in its parking lot.
