Save the Date: Saturday, 10 February 2018.  This is Rotary District 5870 Arbor Day and the Rotary Club of Flatonia will be planting a tree for every Rotarian in their club.  The plantings will be at 10:00 Am at Seven Acre Park and McWhorter Park on Garbade Road.  The community is invited to watch Rotarians at work improving the parks and serving the community complimentary refreshments.
The trees that are planted will improve the Seven-Acre and McWhorter Parks’ esthetics and beauty, provide a sound barrier, and provide much needed shade for activities that occur in the park year round.  Trees provide vital functions such as filtering harsh pollutants from our air, providing energy conserving shade, controlling storm water runoff and providing habitat for wildlife.  These trees will benefit the public now and for generations to come.
