 On Tuesday, 27 June, 2017, The Rotary Club of Flatonia installed a new slate of officers for the Rotary year 2017 - 2018 at the Red Vault Bistro, with this years theme being “Making a Difference”. The new officers include Patricia Satterwhite, President; Robert Rannebarger, President-Elect and Service Projects Director; Mark McLaughlin, Vice President and Foundation Director; Stu Mica, Past President and Membership Director, Bernie Satterwhite, Secretary; Pamela Cunningham, Treasurer; Pat Nickerson, Sergeant At Arms; and Sherry Haas, Public Image Director. 
 
Guests for the evening included Rotary District 5870 Governor, Gene Holiman and his wife Kathleen, Rotary District 5870 Assistant Governor, Sherry Hutchinson, and Father Eddie Winkler, who gave the invocation.
The evening was also a celebration of Past President, Stu Mica’s service to Rotary.  Stu received a plaque and was recognized with his first Paul Harris Fellow. Paul Harris Fellowship, named after Rotary’s founder, recognizes Rotarians, who donate to the Rotary Foundation on a regular basis or who have had donations made in their name.  The following Rotarians also received Paul Harris Fellows that evening:  Dennis Fishbeck, third Paul Harris Fellow; Albert Nunn, fourth Paul Harris Fellow; Judy Pate, second Paul Harris Fellow; Kirk Pate, fifth Paul Harris Fellow; Mike Schulze, third Paul Harris Fellow; and Ervan Zouzalik, ninth Paul Harris Fellow.  Mr. Zouzalik was also recognized as a major donor to the Rotary Foundation.  
 
Patricia Satterwhite, President of the Rotary Club of Flatonia, stated in her remarks, “What an opportunity to be a part of an organization of 1.2 million people. People of action that engage in such endeavors as education, young leaders, community needs, feeding the indigent, and saving lives with polio eradication.  I am so proud of our club and what we’ve accomplished. I am eager to lead this vibrant club of action along with your awesome Board of Directors in making a difference.”
