Very excited to have a fellow Rotarian from the Metrotown Club - Antonia Beck who is the Executive Director at Burnaby Neighbourhood House Society to speak.

Awarded awarded the Queens Diamond Jubilee Medal for all the great work she has done in Burnaby.

If you're not aware or need a refresher on what Neighbourhood house is:

A Neighbourhood House is a volunteer driven community based social service agency that provides equal access to programs and services in response to identified community needs. It is a place in the community that provides a warm and welcoming environment for people young and old from diverse backgrounds.

The Burnaby Neighbourhood is the first Neighbourhood House to be established in Burnaby. It opened their doors on April 10, 1996 as the South Burnaby Neighbourhood House with their first program Kitchen Works. Over the years, it has grown in the numbers of programs and services, the members who they serve, and the staff and volunteers who have made it all possible. They opened a second Neighbourhood House in North Burnaby in 2014 to address the unique needs of the area. In addition, it also operate 9 daycares, 3 preschools and a community hall.

Look forward to everyone there.

Samantha
