Emily Whitmer is a member of the Rotary International Membership Development department.  She is a Regional Membership Officer supporting zones 24 and 32 (Canada and North East USA). In this role she provides support to zone and district leaders as they implement membership strategies to attract and engage members.

Emily Whitmer came to Rotary with eight years of experience designing, facilitating and evaluating educational programs on four different continents. Throughout her career in higher education, she has orchestrated several educational programs focused on increasing student retention and engagement. Most recently, she spent three years in South Africa working as a Schools and Community Resource Specialist in service to the United States Peace Corps. Emily holds an M.A. from Michigan State University in Education, with a special emphasis on supporting international student programs and services. She also graduated from Alma College with a B.A. in Psychology and Women's & Gender Studies. As result of her dynamic life experience, Emily is conversant in the African languages of SiSwati, Zulu and Xhosa.
