Internationally acclaimed pianist Violeta Petrova will be featured in “A Midsummer Night’s Music,” a concert of classical favorites ranging from Bach and Brahms to Chopin and Stravinsky,  at the Carlsbad Library’s Ruby G. Schulman Auditorium on Saturday, June 24.

The concert by the famed pianist starts at 7 p.m., with a welcoming reception in the courtyard beginning at 6 p.m. and a post-show social, also in the courtyard, from 8 to 9 p.m. Guests will be able to meet Petrova – whom one reviewer called “a great visionary artist” and another, “a magnificent musician richly gifted musically and artistically” - for autographs and photos.

Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. They may be purchased in advance at Midsummer Night's Music . Proceeds benefit the Rotary Club of Carlsbad, which will use the funds for its various charitable efforts, both on the community level and internationally. During the welcoming reception there will be a silent auction and raffle.

“We are fortunate to count as one of our members Violeta Petrova, a truly gifted virtuoso with an international following,” said club president Frank Silva. “Her concert will be a mesmerizing experience, and she has graciously volunteered her time and talent to help us raise money to further our mission of service above self.”

Petrova was classically trained in Europe and has performed internationally, with performances throughout Europe, Asia and the United States. She has performed as a soloist as well as in collaboration with musicians from all over the world. Petrova has done numerous recordings for the Finnish and Bulgarian National Radio Networks and has led piano Master Courses in Bulgaria, Finland, Greece, South Korea and the United States. Petrova has been a Carlsbad resident since January 2014 and continues to perform and coach.
