Eye, Ear and Spinal Testing
Greetings Greensborough Rotarians,
It will soon be time for us to conduct our annual Eye, Ear and Spinal Testing of local children 3.5 to 5.5 years old. As you will be aware, we have conducted this in September and for the last couple of years this was held at the Kalparrin Early Learning Centre in Kalparrin Ave Greensborough.
It is time to start getting this organized.
We need a Rotarian to review the mail out list we have traditionally used to see if it is up to date. This might involve speaking to the councils (Banyule and Nillumbik Council’s) to revise the list
I’m happy to liaise with Kalparrin and the University of Melbourne to organize the location and the date for the event
Cheryl-Lee Carter has generously offered her services again to prepare the written/printed documentation
Someone has to print it all up.
One or two Rotarians have to sit together one night to collate the forms/letters/posters/address envelopes/lick/stick and post it all out. These should go out six weeks before the event, ie 6th August, if we use the 17th September as the date.
The big one is taking and co-ordinating the bookings. The person(s) doing this will need access to a computer/email/fax/mobile phone and the club mail box to liaise with Mums/Dads/Grand Parents/Carers etc to set out the appointments. It’s not hard, but it does need to be controlled properly and can be time consuming during the day and after working hours, especially if people are ringing, emailing, texting and posting in!
A number of Rotarians to run the event on the day. That has traditionally been a rostered thing. Two Rotarians on two (2) hour shifts seems to work
Someone to make lunches or some plates of sandwiches for the workers. Maybe Probus could do this ?
A Rotarian to set up and pack up Kalparrin at either end of the day, organize their alarm and to return the key back to Kalparrin 9am the following Monday morning
The above is a bunch of small tasks except for the booking role and if one or two Rotarians took one task each this could quickly be organised. Can I ask all Rotarians interested in being involved in this project to contact me ASAP if only to register your interest at this time
Regards
