Up and Coming BBQ's

Notice to all Club Members and other interested friends.

The club has several dates coming up which we will need expressions of interest in your availability please.

The first is this Friday 24th April at Thomastown Bunnings from 9am to approximately 4 pm

Then Sunday 10th May (Mothers Day) at Lower Eltham Park (Where the miniature trains run on Sundays) 9am to 3pm

This has the potential of raising $1000 and we need 4 people please. Eltham Rotarians provide everything. We need just to turn up. It's lots of fun, quite busy from 11 am to about 1.30pm. Come, bring family members who are always welcome.

Please let me know asap how much time you have available.

Then Friday 22nd May at Thomastown. Both David and Frank will be on leave, Christine and I will need help with set up and clean up. Can you please advise me by email of any time you can help please.

Thank you for your consideration and anticipated help - Just the morning? or just the afternoon? maybe 2 hours in the middle of the day. Thanks.

Special end of year Celebration

A function is being organised for members. family and friends at Farm Vigano.

This is an opportunity for fun and fellowship to celebrate the festive season and conclude the activities for 2014.

Connie is making arrangements and we urgently need confirmation of attendance.

Please respond to the email invitation asap when you receive it.

Detail of location are included in the event notice.

This will be our final function for 2014. Activities will resume in January with a Fellowship Function to be held at Joy Ferguson’s on Saturday January 31^st. commencing at 2.00pm.

Bunnings Mill Park - 30th November

To our Awesome team.

Great effort to put in some very hot hours today. Good to see our members graduating to Cert. 2 and Cert. 3.!! The training is really paying our club great dividends.

Great help from David, setting up and packing up as well as arranging to leave his car for us to access the refrigerated sausages.

Charlie, Zac and George were in charge of cooking

Charlie was looking forward to his dog's welcome to him on his return home, said he would love the smell of sausages on Charlie.

Thank you all for coping with my absent brain - going a bit by remote control.

Thanks to Connie for coming in to allow me to leave earlier

Special thanks to Zac all day, and Zane for filling in for most of the day. (Editor's note from David L. These two young men stayed right till the end of pack up and were a tremendous help.)

Drinks were excellent sellers due to the 35 degree temperature - I'm sure it was much warmer in our location especially for our steadfast "chefs."

I understand the profits were just under $1000.00. Will wait for David's final balance on the day.

Again, a wonderful team effort, grateful thanks.

Annual Awards for Secondary Students

A highlight of the year

Wednesday 19th November 2014. 12.30 for 1.00pm Greensborough Hotel Bistro

Six students from each of Greensborough and
Montmorency Secondary
Colleges are selected annually to
receive these awards.

The students are selected on their
academic capability together with
their individual contribution to the
school community as a whole.


These annual awards are made to
honor two past members of the
Rotary Club of Greensborough for
the individual contributions each
made to the youth and the
community.

Fifty nine Students, Parents, Grandparent, Teachers and Rotarians attended this years event that was well organised by the current Youth Committee Chair, Past President Joy Ferguson who also presented the awards.

Alan Robinson from Montmorency Secondary college and Graeme Scott from Greensborough College each expressed appreciation to the Rotary Club of Greensborough for providing these annual awards which are a very valuable part of the school calendar.

The selected students each received a certificate and a voucher for Office Works as part of their award.
