Time for an eBulletin

A kind of editorial.
It's been a while since we published a bulletin and so here goes for some updates and info. I think I will have a go at some bullet points from a Secretary's view.
- President Kate
Kate is settling in to a new work position located in the city and so has not been able to attend weekly meetings for some time. We wish her all the best in her new role and look forward to her being able to connect more again soon. Meanwhile, Vice President Nalin has stepped in to fill the gap and meetings have been going well.
- Attendance
On the subject of attendance, although still a bit up and down our attendance average has been been much improved over recent weeks. I resumed recording attendance at the beginning of this year and our best so far has been a 75% plus a few visitors. This could be partly attributed to John Hardiman's prompting from his now appointed Membership Chair but also to a good selection of speakers that have been announced in advance on a more consistent basis.
- Facilities at All Saints
We are really enjoying our new meeting location and thanks to All Saints, especially Coffee Shop Manager Christine for arranging our meals. David Fuller expresses pleasure at the sense of added community we bring to his centre and shows servant leadership in setting up the room for us.
- Catering
We are still a bit challenged in getting our numbers right to avoid paying for extra meals or on the other hand creating stress for the staff when we exceed our ordered meals. There is some degree of flexibility in this and we want to have ability to provide a meal for those who, because of work circumstances, do not always know if they can attend or not until the last minute. Members can help in this by keeping in touch in regard to expected attendance. Zilis Hardiman will be taking the responsibility for liaison with staff to get this as smooth as we can.
- ChildSafe
We have been giving attention to this important subject to ensure that we comply with the State Government’s Child Safe Standards. The focus of the Standards is to help organisations to drive cultural change so that protecting children from abuse is embedded in everyday thinking and practice. We have had one session on this in our Monday Meeting and will schedule more when we do not have a guest speaker.
- Board
The next scheduled meeting of the Board is Tuesday the 9th May. Please forward any reports, applications or other requests to the Secretary for inclusion in the Agenda.
- Night Meeting
Don't forget our upcoming night meeting at Swiper's Gulley. See the events column for details and register online.
