Ted Egan’s new book is The Anzacs: 100 Years On in Story and Song (Wild Dingo Press, 2014).

This book is not a glorification of war, nor of the patriotism that led the Anzacs to fight in World War 1. It is a recognition of the lives lost, the anguish caused, the sacrifices made. In his superb commemorative book, Ted also puts forth a unique blend of the Anzac story with 20 relevant songs––most composed by him.

This book is a triumph for Ted, who was made an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) for “contributions to the literary heritage of Australia through song and verse”. He was awarded Territorian of the Year in 2000, appointed Administrator (Governor) of the Northern Territory from 2003-2007 and was recently listed amongst Australia's National Living Treasures by the National Trust of Australia.

Ted will be talking about the book, and performing the songs he wrote at Greensborough RSL on Wednesday 26 November • 7pm - 9pm. This is a FREE event! but RSVPs are essential. We hope to see you there!
