The Rotary International Day Community Breakfast was held on Friday the 13th March at the Greensborough Hotel.President Francis Acquah welcomed guests including Rotarians from a number of clubs including the Assistant Governor for Group one of District 9790.Members of Parliament, Local government Mayors and Councilors, Heads of various community organisations and other guests were also welcomed.RI President Gary C.K. Huang has urged all Rotary members to by organizing a Rotary Day in 2014-15. The concept is simple: hold an event in your community to introduce the public to your club and Rotary.

This event provided for input from community organisations show how Rotary and the Community work together.



 

 


AG Chris Lang, gave a short presentation on the Objects of Rotary.

 

 
The Guest Speaker for the morning was The Hon Harry Jenkins whose presentation entitled  "From Federal Parliament to Citizen Harry - a Journey of 34 years in politics" was both enlightening and entertaining.
 
Starting with his first involvement in Local Government and going on to being a Federal Member, time as Speaker of the House of Representatives and subsequent events to the end of his time in Parliament, Harry gave some interesting insights and shared some great anecdotes.
 
Harry was acknowledged by the gathering as having been very connected to community organisations and events in his electorate over the years in politics.
