Dear David

I would like to thank The Rotary Club of Greensborough for the enjoyable time I had there as a member.

I was inducted as a member of your club on the night Jerome was last inducted as President, so have only been a member for a short time by comparison with Graham Trotter, Ron, Jerome and many others.

When I stopped employing staff a couple of years ago it became impossible to attend lunchtime meetings, though I always went to barbeques, fundraisers and evening social nights when they were held, and that is the only reason I am leaving the club. I spent two and a half years on The Board and made a lot of friends. My wife Christine continues to actively support your club and we will both keep in touch with you all in the future.

I particularly enjoyed helping to start the Rotaract Club, and seeing those 27 young people taking an active interest in the community. Likewise I have become involved with the starting of the new Rotary Club of Greensborough Central, which although it has taken 4 of your members, has brought another 17 people into this great organisation and will help to further its aims. Just imagine if this was achieved by all other clubs across the District. It is a lasting legacy of The Rotary Club of Greensborough that it has helped charter 2 new clubs in the last 5 years.

Could you please pass on this email and my thanks to The Board and the club members.

Yours in Rotary
Tony Shields
