Thank you to all the committee chairs for preparing reports on this year’s activities for last week’s club assembly.

A full report on the year’s events was forwarded to district this week and will be included in a special bulletin for changeover night.

When I went through all we have done this year I am impressed with what we have been able to achieve and I think the club can be proud of this year’s achievements. There have been some disappointments but the highs have vastly outweighed them and I am sure with Steve at the helm in only four weeks time our club will build on this year’s efforts.

On Friday night I attended a meeting of the group one presidents – Rosanna, Eltham, Diamond creek Bundoora, Greensborough hosted by Assistant District Governor John Gatt.

Many issues were discussed mostly relating to district issues but there is a strong desire amongst all the clubs to attempt to have more events involving multiple club input.  The Diamond Valley Rotaract club is a perfect example and I hope other examples will develop next year.

We also had our Red shield appeal fitness trial. I’m sure Michael Loy will report the results.  My impression was that a lot of people indicated they were willing to donate but didn’t have cash handy. It will be interesting to see what occurs as we are steadily moving to a cashless society. Perhaps we will have to carry mobile eftpos machines when door knocking!

Cheers  for now
