It was great to see a good turnout at our last meeting and the feedback was that everyone enjoyed the lunch. And the guest speaker David Craig , Paul's brother. Over the next few weeks we will be able  to welcome back Paul Roast and Ron Myerscough who have been away on holidays.

It was the start of a busy and enjoyable Rotary week.

Wednesday night we had our board meeting.

Amongst the many things we decided was that the proceeds from the business breakfast would go to Banksia Palliative care.   The treasurer reported the profit from the Bunnings BBQ on Easter Sunday was $934. Well done to all concerned. John Hardiman also  presented a report on the business breakfast which is now ready to go. Please try to sell more tickets!

Saturday night was the trivia night to raise money for Kalparrin. Ten Rotarians and partners from our club made up a table and our club was acknowledged on the night as sponsors of Kalparrin. We didn't do so well in the trivia department but Ray Davies and Kerry Leverett won awards for their dancing prowess and Greg Shambrook won a special mention for the most unusual dance moves.( he claimed he could move because his back was playing up ). It was a lot of fun and I would highly recommend it to all members if it is held next year.

Monday night was the meeting of the committee organizing the Rotaract national conference. I attended on behalf of the club and was immensely impressed by the running of the meeting and the level of organization displayed. It was interesting to observe how young people organise compared to Rotarians. EVERYTHING is done electronically. Examples of sessions they want to hold were brought up on you tube. Bookings for the conference can only be done on line. There is a promotional video for the conference which can be downloaded from the conference website. All contributions for the meeting agenda were distributed electronically before the meeting.

This conference will be conducted without a sheet of paper ever being used except for promotional flyers and a conference program.

Our club has been asked to man the registration desk to check in delegated as they arrive. I think it will be a great conference but quite different to our district conference.

Finally don't forget that Eltham Club has a trivia night this Saturday night at Montmorency football club in Para road with all proceeds going to Rotary foundation.

Cheers for now
