Thank you to all those who attended our changeover night and for all the good wishes and encouragement I received.
Thank you especially to John Hardiman, our very professional M.C and sergeant, who went to a great deal of time and effort to make sure the night ran like clockwork . Thanks also to David Ling for his bulletin production and to the many people who also pitched in to make the night a success.
95 people attended and the feedback so far has been very positive and hopefully points the way to a successful year .
Carol McCarthy did a great job of entertaining us and even my three children gave her a tick of approval. There were a number of positives to come out of the night. Our club now has two potential entrants for the TV show ' Dancing with the Stars' . Ray (twinkle toes )Lord and Barry Cole Sinclair. I think we could also put together a floor show featuring a lookalike cover band of The Village People. More seriously, I was approached on the night by four people who asked to be invited to the golf day and four others who asked to advised of any future fundraising functions run by the club because they wanted to contribute to the great causes which our club supports. No prospective new members yet but I'm working on them. It has been said that today, people don't join organisations ,they join causes and from the response on Friday night I think that is true. Our club should promote the specific projects we do at every opportunity and I know Kay Hanvin, our P.R director, is keen to do just that.

I would also like to take this opportunity, on behalf of the club, to sincerely thank our now Past president Jeff Thomas for all his work through the year. He can justifiably look back on his achievements over the last twelve months with a great deal of pride and satisfaction. Well done Jeff!
