Marks Remarks   Wed 8/9/2010

September is new Generations month in the rotary calendar and this year, after a decision by the 2010 council on legislation, for the first time New Generations Service has become the fifth avenue of service in Rotary ,Joining Club service, International service,  Vocational service and Community service.

For those newer members of the club, the aim of designating avenues of service  is to ensure that clubs direct their attention to a wide and balanced range of projects.

As part of our clubs service to new generations we are conducting the Hearing , sight and spinal screening at Kalparrin this Saturday 11th September. If you are free to help on that day please contact Martyn Thompson.

Also don't forget our Rotaract club. It is a very active club and recently Michael Shields who is the equivalent of district Governor for Rotaract personally visited many clubs in the district to encourage them to start Rotaract clubs. This was a great personal effort and he is to be congratulated. Michael is also organising a training program soon and may need the assistance of our club in providing some training sessions but more on that soon.
I would encourage members to go along to one of their Monday night meetings. Rotarians are welcome and it shows our support and it is worth seeing how active and community spirited these great young people are.
