I hope everyone enjoyed our first meeting at the golf club for this year . If anyone has any comments either positive or negative I would be very happy to hear them.

The attendance last week was very good and attendances at our weekly meetings  generally have been very good this year. Nine members have 100% so far this year which is a great effort.

Don't forget to let David Ling know if you do a make up. The rules have been expanded as to what constitutes a make up so if you think you are eligible for one  speak to David.

At a board level we have been working very hard to streamline the administration and ensure the board
operates effectively with the new club leadership plan.
We have drawn up a standard 'Fundraising or Service project form' to simplify the reporting from the project leaders to the board and ensure the board receives the information it needs to oversee the running of the club. The subcommittee chairs have done a great job in keeping the board informed, which is crucial to the functioning of the board. The board is now not getting bogged down in the minute details of planning involved in every project so this makes the board meetings more effective and efficient .

The new leadership plan devised by Rotary international  always had the potential to ease the pressure on the board and spread the workload more but it is a big change and it has been a huge challenge to get the lines of communication operating well enough for the plan to be effective, but we are making good progress.

I am confident that the light I see at the end of the tunnel is not a train coming the other way.
