Thanks again to program director Paul who organized another fascinating guest speaker or more appropriately interviewee Simplis.  He was part of the Cameroon commonwealth games team and is now an Australian Citizen and champion weight lifter. We only had time to cover a small part of that  journey but it has been quite a journey as he could not speak English and had no understanding of the Australian way of life when he arrived. Some members asked how we could help him as he is finding life challenging financially with his commitments to his sport and commitment to his family in Cameroon.

What he most needs now is a part time job with flexible hours to accommodate his training schedule, so if anyone knows of a position that would suit they can contact Paul Craig.

Many of you will remember our guest speaker Maree Castles who gave a very uplifting presentation on riding for the disabled. We asked how we could help and she was able to provide a list of needs.

The board has decided to provide funding of $2000 to purchase a western style saddle to facilitate ease of mounting the horse.  The saddle will have as small plaque on it to acknowledge our support.

Don't forget our BBQ at Bunnings Eltham on Easter Sunday it is going ahead and we can always make use of some extra hands. Please contact Mark Sefton if you can help.

Cheers for now, Pres Mark
