It was great to see a good turnout of 21 members to our last meeting on the 26 th

The drawcard was undoubtedly our new member Simon Flower's 'Person Behind the Badge' presentation.

Simon as expected gave an interesting and humorous insight into his life. From his birthplace in Bristol to his home in Australia.  He studied history at the University of Birmingham until 1990 and then took a temporary position as a travel agent. In 1993 he visited Australia for the first time as a backpacker and has tried many different jobs over the years, but always returned to travel. He ran a travel agency for ten years in London and met his wife Jenny through work in London. They Married in 2002 and moved to Australia.

Their first daughter Lucy was born in 2003 and Sophie was born in 2006.

In 2004 Jenny and Simon took on a Harvey world travel agency in Chadstone shopping centre and learned a valuable business lesson. Don't go into a shopping centre and don't go into a franchise.  They now own a specialist travel agency in Eltham which enables them to have a better work life balance and contribute to rotary. Thank you to Simon for such a good presentation .

It is with regret that the board has received a resignation from the club from Barry Cole Sinclair. Barry has been a very active club member for the last eight year. He has served on the board for three years and has well supported club activities. He has brought his profession of Drafting to benefit the club on many occasions and helped organize the club directory signboards which we see on the main entry roads to Greensborough. He was more recently instrumental in drawing up the plans for the Petrie park playground project.
He is now finding his other commitments are not allowing him to attend meetings and contribute to the club to his usual high standard so he has made this decision. I'm sure he will be missed by all of us but has asked that we keep in touch as he is still keen to attend club events such as the golf day.

I am writing this as I get ready to go to our Cup day fundraiser at Sampson Hill. I am looking forward to a great day and hope we raise a good total on the day and most importantly have some fun doing it !
