Last week we were given some insights into the personal journey of a leukemia sufferer and his search for and ultimate success in finding a bone marrow donor for a transplant.

Dean shared remarkable story telling us about his first diagnosis, the effect on his life and his eventual return to health after the transplant.
At the time of Dean's digagnosis it was difficult to find support and this has led him to be a strong supporter and promoter of the Leukemia Foundation and the great work they do in support and help for people with this condition.

The Leukaemia Foundation provides personalised and practical support for patients and families living with:

  • leukaemias
  • lymphomas
  • myeloma
  • Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS)
  • Myelproliferative Disorders (PRV, ET, MF)
  • Waldenstroms
  • Amyloidosis
  • Aplastic Anaemia

This support is provided by our extensive team of highly trained Support Services staff who are there to help through every step of the journey.

All services are provided free of charge to patients and families and are available in metropolitan, regional and rural areas across Australia.

Thank you Dean for sharing your story with us.
