Hi to all members

There is a lot happening at present and a brief report as follows.

  • Mark Sefton and his committee have been at Greensborough Railway Station 5 times during the football finals cooking and selling sausages. They need another 2 people for this coming Saturday. Volunteers required.

  • Martyn Thompson is reporting in this Bulletin the results of the eye and ear testing. Many thanks to all who assisted.

  • The Rotaract Conference was this last weekend, and was organized by Diamond Valley Club. What a great job done by Michael Shields and his team,we can be very proud of these young people in what they do.Their main speaker was Mr.Hugh Evans CEO of The Global Poverty Project, and what a speaker. We experienced his dynamics at the Rotary Conference, and he did not disappoint this time either. He indicated that 1.4 billion people around the world exist on less than $10 per week.He also spoke with great passion about Polio, and this struck a loud chord in my mind.We should do more for this cause, also I should be more aware than others as Zilis’ brother suffered polio as a child and spent a long time in a trolley.

  • This week we are having Andrew Minahan give us a “Man behind the Badge” talk and Ray Davies will be asking any members present for football stories to share in this week of the Grand Final.

  • Business Networking International are having their presentation night at The Centre Ivanhoe. Dinner and Entertainment and Dancing will ensure a great night out. All profits are to go to Kalparrin. Please help us to make up a table of 10.

Our Speaker last week, Dr.Fouad Abo, presented so well, on a subject which to many is still unclear, that we ran overtime. Maybe we have to give speakers more time and reduce our time spent on reports.

That’s it for another week,

see you Wednesday.

Regards

John
