Hi to all Members,
Last Wednesday was another great day for our Club. The Fellowship created by our Sargents (2 Rays’) is terrific. The laughter from all was most contagious.
Brian Beers gave a very interesting talk about his Football career. It was most enlightening to hear about his family connections to Collingwood Football Club. (4 Generations). We will be having Brian back later this year to talk about his Tennis Experiences.
Last
Friday Night 13 of our Club attended The Community Dance at the Centre
in Ivanhoe.(we all know it as the Heidelberg Town Hall). We were invited
by The Mayor and Councillors of Banyule City Council, and the Event was
in aid of Kalparrin. Our Ladies all looked delightful, and the fellowship
at our table was much appreciated.
For our meeting on the 24th.August we have a speaker from The Ombudsman’s Office, which will be interesting, as many of us have little knowledge of the Role of this Office.
Last Friday, Bill Carter and myself attended the funeral for Tony Shields 47 year brother. What a stirring service it was, and a special send off for one so dear to Tonys Family.
This is Membership Month for Rotary International, so we look forward to all Members seeking to replace themselves in the Club with younger members.
