Hi to all Members,
It is now 5 weeks since the new year began for my Rotary Life and it has been most exciting. During this time we have been able to share Fellowship at Changeover Nights at Diamond Creek, Bundoora, Eltham, and Rotoract, not forgetting our own evening.
What a great night it was with 97 members and guests enjoying the company, food,wine, entertainment and the SPEECHES. A number of our Club members attended these functions.
Last week we had the official visit from the District Governor, David Anderson which was most illuminating.(a very interesting man) Before our Club Meeting , David met with the Board to discuss our Plan for this Rotary Year. He made many suggestions which will be followed, and should ensure we have a successful year.
The month of August is Membership month and we need all members to put their best foot forward and introduce male and female members to the Club. To start this programme it was really special to see Connie D’Amore return to the fold, and she is now working on the Admin. committee. Also John Mackey has introduced Mr.Andrew Minahan from his former practice, to become a member. On the horizon are another 3 potential members and when information is to hand you will be advised.
All Committees are now up and running and they all have huge challenges ahead, which will result in our Club doing many projects here and overseas. We have some excellent speakers coming to our Club over the next few months, and it would be appreciated if all members could support these people, who are giving up their time to share their knowledge.
