January is often a quiet month for Rotary activities but this year has been the exception.

We have had 4 fundraising BBQs at Bunnings and raised over $4000. Two of these had been planned for a while and two were last minute additions because others had cancelled. Naming specific people for special effort could get me into trouble and I have enough of that already, so thanks to everyone who contributed especially at late notice.

According to figures from Joy Ferguson and from my memory, we had something like 16 Rotarians, Family and Friends over the Australia Day Weekend and I must say that I enjoyed the fellowship of that for the times I was there immensely.

Next week is our first meeting at WaterMarc and Francis Acquah will be doing his "Rotarian Behind the Badge" talk. I am looking forward to hearing from Francis.
