My quote for this week also comes from Tim Jack:

"It is prudent leadership that prepares for transition and, at the right time, willingly releases the baton, rather than have it wrenched from their hand."

It seems to me that this is the whole idea behind Rotary International's current emphasis on Club Leadership Plan and development is certainly one of our aims for this year.

Last night's Board Meeting was a productive time as we launch into the new Rotary Year. Some of the items are in a separate article and minutes will be circulated by Secretary Bill.

We still do not have a Director appointed to the Rotary Foundation Standing Commitee. This is an important role and fills a vacancy on the Board. We want to continue to have some focus on the excellent work undertaken by Foundation around the world. Ron Myerscough will keep us up to date with a Polio Plus article each month.

Inner Wheel and Rotoract both have their Changovers this week. We wish them well for the 2012-2013 year.
