For a long time I have thought that I would like to visit one of the more remote areas of China, so when the opportunity to visit the Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province came up I decided to take it. In making the plans there was some concern about how I would handle the 4,000 metre altitude but that proved unfounded as I didn’t have any problem at all.  Just a bit shorter of breath than usual.
