Over the years the Rotary Club of Greensborough has given much generous practical and financial support to my sister Meg and brother-in-law Don MacRaild in their retirement work, "The Vanuatu Eye Care Project ", including naming them Paul Harris Fellows.

As many of you may know, Jerome and I constitute 'the Melbourne Motel' when Don and Meg come on their frequent trips to Melbourne to follow up aspects of the Project and to see family.

The Eye Care Project keeps expanding into new areas of Service.
The most recent new service is a two-week, Melbourne-based residential training Program, "Women in Leadership". This leadership development program responds to specific requests from Vanuatu women. Don and Meg developed the program with support from the Centre for Theology and Ministry, Melbourne University, and the local Vanuatu Fellowship. The first program will be conducted in Melbourne during November for 34 ni-Van women.

These 34 women, (plus 2 men! ) will present two concerts while they are in Melbourne.  Hellen Karie and Gibson Aru will participate  in the Leadership Program before going on to RYLA and will also be singing in the concerts.

The first concert was held at Living Faith Church Grimshaw Street Greensborough onSunday 13 November.

A second concert will be held at 7.30 pm on Tuesday, 22 November,
at the North Ringwood Uniting Church.

Two groups will be singing during this concert: the Emmanuel Singers are Aussies who have been involved in Vanuatu in various ways; the 34 ni-Vans will provide the other half of the program.

The ni-Vans harmonise most beautifully: their singing will be glorious.

We invite those of you who are able, to come, with family and friends,
to hear these pioneering women (and 1 man!).

The concert is free, but there will be an opportunity to contribute to the group's expenses and the work being done in Vanuatu.
