Todays Meeting
-  Celebrating birthdays this week: Bill Vogt on 4.14, Cassie on 4.18, and Ben Wolfe on 4.13. Happy birthday!
-  We heard from SOM Lindsay Barwick today- learn more about her in the Zoom meeting!
-  Our District Conference begins this Sunday and runs all week. A tremendous amount of work (and service!) has gone into scheduling engaging , enlightening and informative Rotary information from around the world. If you missed the email from DG Bill Pritchard, here is his message about registering for the Conference:
We have pulled together a rock-star line up of thought leaders in all things Rotary.  You’ll hear from Rotary International leaders such as Tom Thorfinnson, Brian King and Tom Gump who are on the cutting edge of the actions plans for our Rotary path in North America and beyond.  We will be blessed with presentations/discussions each night during the week from district leaders around Youth Programs, Foundation, Membership, Public Image, and a look at work being done around the country and globe by Rotarians in our seven key areas of focus.  We’ll be joined by the leaders of Rotary’s past (yes… Paul Harris himself!) to Rotary’s present (Rotary International President Holger Knaack) to a look forward at how our Rotary action plan will impact our futures, with presentations from Rotary International President-Elect Shekhar Mehta and Rotary International President Elect Nominee Jennifer Jones.  And we will close our plenary sessions on the following Saturday by thought leaders in the areas of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion on how to absorb this fast evolving topic into our clubs, our districts, and into ourselves.

Virtual Conferences offer a unique opportunity to fit Rotary into your very busy lives.  You had to book days for an in-person conference... for a virtual conference you can book hours.  Click the link below and TAKE A LOOK AT THE AGENDA.  If something looks interesting, register.  It is that easy.

Finally, this conference will be the last of its kind.  It will be the last conference which is dedicated ONLY to District 6250 and our 59 clubs.  Please make a special effort to engage at some level –  our district has over 2500 members… If we could have even ½ engage in some way, that would make a meaningful statement and sendoff as we pivot into the opportunity of joining with the other Wisconsin (and beyond) clubs beginning in 2022.  There has never been a better opportunity.
P.S. - Here is that registration link again.

- I received a notice from Amazon Smiles that the most recent donation to RI International was $4,090.06 (annually $58 K). That's impressive! Many of us are already shopping on Amazon and by choosing RI in the Smiles program Amazon gives back on every purchase you make.
- Milton High School is looking for community volunteers to help with their Academic & Career Plans events in May- see flier below for help that is needed and who to contact to sign up.
- The Children's Museum monthly newsletter is available. If you didn't sign up to receive it, check their FB page.
- Our Scholarship awards will be presented on 5.24. Mark your calendars- you don't want to miss this meeting!
- Thanks to Derek for running our Zoom meetings- his efforts have really improved the experience for people joining via Zoom!
Note: to begin the meeting in the Zoom video, scroll ahead to 15:06 in the red bar on the bottom.
Amiee Leavy, Racial Justice Director YWCA Rock County, spoke to us today about Structural/Institutional Racism and how it impacts every area of life. She went over the various biases we operate under, and used a graphic to demonstrate the difference between equality and equity. You'll want to listen to her presentation if you weren't available today- please don't miss it!
