Wooldridge Mural - Rundberg Rising Project.

Calling for West Austin Rotary Volunteers:
Place:  Wooldridge Elementary School
Date:  Friday, November 1
Time:  3:45pm

For those that recall, Sarah Duzinski spoke to us a few weeks ago about Rundberg Rising, a group working to instill pride in the neighborhoods in the vicinity of Rundberg Lane.  One of their efforts involves creating murals at area schools which represent the identity of the school.  Our club has already committed money toward the purchase of the supplies needed for this mural project.  The Rotary logo will appear on the mural reflecting our club’s longstanding support for Wooldridge Elementary.

Now comes the part of the project which needs our participation as volunteers.  The artist for the Wooldridge Elementary School mural is ready for the participatory painting part of the project which will be a festival atmosphere from 4 – 7 pm.  Club volunteers are encouraged to arrive at 3:45 pm to meet briefly to divvy up various tasks to help keep the project flowing smoothly.  Volunteers are needed to take photos, to take short videos, to help herd small groups of children to paint small portions of the mural, to recruit parents to paint upper portions of the mural and to paint their names and their country of origin.  Even if you cannot commit to being available for the whole time, please come and help for as long as you can any time between 4 – 7 pm.

The logos for Rotary Club of West Austin, and Rundberg Rising will be added post-hoc by the artist.
