IGM 2014, The Experience
Dear all,
Back to Cayenne, I would like to tell you how much Rotarians from French Guyane enjoyed their staying, and spent a very good time with you all during this IGM in PARAMARIBO . On behalf of them all, let me thank you very much for your warm welcoming, and for your efficient organization. I hope that we shall be more numerous from our country next time. Let us be creative and dreamful, and long life to these IGMs.
Concerning our meeting about EBOLA threat, I learnt a lot from the different speakers who shared information with us about what their response about EBOLA is, and I hope that they understood what French Guyane is doing in this area. I shall make a report of our meeting to Dr. McKENZIE of the A.R.S. here and copy you ( and them ?), and I hope that this will help to communicate for a mutual benefit. If you plan to make a sum-up or a report of our meeting, I am very interested in receiving it . May be it would be useful to show them what is being done in each county.
I realized that there are some information that could not be communicated during the meeting, and I understand it: We are not politicians, thanks God! But We can change the world…so I am very happy that we could reach an agreement on how Rotary can take part in the fight against EBOLA threat and make a statement . I am looking forward to receiving your proposal about the common leaflet we decided to produce. In the meantime, do you need us to make a proposal , or to translate something later on for the French part of it (or make a French one ?). Shall we make a multilingual one, or three “national” same ones ? let me know quick enough so that I can “sell” the idea to all the clubs here in order to ask them to participate, and to the health authorities to have their support.
Let us hope that these IGM will go on, it would be a pity to stop them. May be we have to adapt the frequency or other things, but I am convinced they are a very good opportunity to know each other a bit better .
This is a good opportunity for Rotary purposes, for this is a rare opportunity to meet with others AG’s and clubs members of this part of our district, as well as for business relationships, as they are based on mutual confidence that can be created by these meetings. For me they answer very positively to the four way test.
Thank you once again for your friendship, and see you soon, in Paramaribo, in Guyana, or anywhere else.
