Today is Children's Day! The purpose of Children's Day is not only to spoil children with fun things, but also to keep children's rights up to date. RCPR has therefore decided to approach the Tamara Foundation and organize a fun day for children in crisis.
The Tamara Children's Home Foundation is a private institution that temporarily shelters children between the ages of 4 and 16 who are in crisis situations, offers them structure and provides the children with their daily care. The children stay in Tamara for 3 to 6 months. Tamara was founded in 1998 with the main goal of giving the children a better tomorrow (Tamara means tomorrow). The children come from various situations such as: physical abuse, mental abuse, neglect, sexual abuse, unexpectedly homeless or orphaned. To guarantee the privacy of these children and to protect the children, very strict rules are applied by this home. Pictures of children are therefore NOT PUBLISHED.

The Paramaribo Zoo has given the children free admission and after the treasure hunt with Mrs. Marscha, a collection of beautiful reading books was also donated to the foundation. The children were delighted to enjoy a lunch meal provided by McDonald’s. After lunch, the children surprised the organization with a beautiful song of thanks and everyone went home with a smile on their faces.

-TOGETHER we may give our children roots to grow, and wings to fly-
